See a pattern, hold it, rebuild it

Pattern Recall briefly highlights a group of cells, hides them, and asks you to reconstruct the same arrangement. Each session contains five rounds, with the pattern gradually becoming more complex. Difficulty settings change the grid size and the amount of visual information competing for attention.

Unlike a matching game, every relevant location arrives at once. You need to take in the arrangement, preserve it through a short delay, and translate the remembered shape back onto an empty grid. The finite progression gives the exercise a clear stopping point.

Practice well

Look for shapes, not isolated squares

During the preview, notice clusters, lines, symmetry, empty gaps, and positions near the edges. A description such as “an L in the upper left plus one lower square” is often easier to retain than a list of separate coordinates.

Rebuild the most certain part first, then use its position to place the remaining cells. Stay on an easier grid until your encoding strategy feels dependable. If patterns begin to blur together, end the session; additional rounds while fatigued usually add noise rather than useful practice.

How long is each pattern visible?

The preview is intentionally brief and varies with the game settings. Focus on the arrangement rather than trying to verbally list every cell.

What should I do if I remember only part of it?

Select the cells you remember with confidence, then reconstruct the remaining positions from the shape and spacing you noticed.

When should I increase the grid size?

Increase difficulty when you can encode the current patterns calmly. A larger grid should add a useful challenge, not force guessing.
